Overview

Mardi, nestled on 29 Rue de la Villette in the vibrant 19th arrondissement of Paris, is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a haven for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This airy, sunlit café invites you in with the rich aroma of artisanal brews that drift out onto the street, making it a memorable stop on any Parisian walk.

The heart of Mardi's experience lies in its thoughtful curation of coffee. From expertly crafted lattes like their smooth Coffee Latte and fragrant Chai Latte to the delicate complexity of their Café Filtre v60 and Filter Coffee, each cup is brewed with care and precision. The beans are carefully sourced, and the staff's passion shines through in their attentive recommendations. For filter coffee aficionados, Mardi offers a rare and refined experience rarely matched even in Europe’s specialty coffee scene.

But the delight doesn’t end with coffee. Mardi’s menu complements the drinks perfectly, featuring fresh, carefully crafted items such as Scone Crème Et Confiture, Kanelbullar, and the delicate Lemon Bouche. The Choco Pistachio Cookie and Gâteau Du Jour Citron Pistache are standout treats, showcasing the kitchen's flair for balancing bold flavors with tender textures. The Sandwich Danois and Cupcakes provide savory and sweet options that fit the café’s refined yet casual vibe.

The space itself radiates a minimalist charm, flooded with natural light from large street-facing windows that foster a welcoming, communal atmosphere. The decor is understated but inviting, paired with carefully selected music that enhances the laid-back yet lively ambiance. Visitors often mention the friendly, passionate staff and the unique warmth that feels more like a neighborhood gathering spot than a typical café.

Mardi attracts a diverse crowd—from local Parisians appreciating high-quality specialty coffee and fresh brunch offerings to visitors drawn by the café's cool, creative vibe. The inclusion of a resident dog adds a cozy touch, making the experience more personal and relaxed.

For those seeking a coffee destination in Paris that offers artisanal drinks, inventive small bites, and a sense of community, Mardi stands out as a must-visit. Its blend of quality, comfort, and character creates a space where every visit feels like a small celebration of good taste and friendly connection.

@mardicafeparis : superb spot for some delicious coffee and brunch. Thanks for the recommendation @europeancoffeetrip The cafe is very airy and well lit from the huge street facing windows on two sides. People are passionate and friendly. Coffee selection is excellent and staff help you with recommendations from quality roasters. You can get brews from espresso based drinks to batch brew and filter coffee of your choice method. Food is also served with a lot of thought put into it. The ingredients are super fresh and top notch and the resultant dishes are excellent!

The best filter coffee I've had in a while! The beans were amazing and- the filter was properly brewed. It's hard to find decent filter coffee in Europe, even in specialty coffee places they ruin it quite often. But here, the coffee was excellent!

I heard about this place about my friends working in fashion week! And everything about it is on point! From the coffee smell you can feel from the top of the street, sipping the delicious coffee with a quick bite was everything was I looking for a sunny day in Paris. Minimalist, good music and smiley people :) The hood is hip. I am definitely coming back to try other items ! Love the community behind the coffee shop! Je recommende !

Great neighborhood coffee shops are alive and well. The coffee is great and unpretentious, the people are lovely, and seem to care a lot. Had about all the types of coffee they served and was pleased with all of them. The food feels northern hygge inspired, it is simple, excellent, and comforting. The affogato soft serve really highlights the quality of the coffee there and it made me forget the existential dread of not having my breakfast in Italy for a moment. Priceless Also the music is nice and not generic which is a big plus.

Lucky to live around the corner of this café. Had the flat white and banana miso pound cake and went back the second time. Every day with different varieties of bakery that goes well with . Would love to start every morning with a cuppa from Mardi if I could.
